"ABSOLUTE LIFE-SAVER & MUSICAL GENIUS. I booked Jesse with 24 hours' notice and threw him the most unhinged brief ever: a Bollywood-ish global block party mixed with reggaeton, Y2K nostalgia, afro beats and a few tracks to surprise the aunties… and he delivered beyond anything I imagined."— Rochelle"Jesse was amazing. I was in a difficult situation because a previous DJ cancelled, and trust was something I did not have at that point. Jesse was fully organized, and his coordination with everyone at the event was just amazing. No words, I can only recommend him 100%."— Roxana
I used to teach English to rooms full of people who didn't speak the same language. Now I DJ weddings for crowds who don't listen to the same music. Turns out it's the same skill.
I'm Jesse. I'm originally from Perth, but I spent years living in Germany, first running language camps, then somehow ending up behind the decks in the bars of Hamburg and Berlin (I've also lived in Barcelona and Mexico City)Turns out when you spend your twenties teaching rooms full of kids and adults who don't want to be there and DJing for crowds who don't speak your language, you get really good at reading a room.I came back to Perth, got promoted to a managerial role at my school, that went on a few years, then decided that should be about enough of all that after 14 years in education and I started DJing events. Everything clicked. The planning brain from education. The music brain from Berlin. The "oh god I need to fix this right now" brain from years of managing chaos. Now I DJ weddings and events full-time and I bring all of it.The German precision for the planning. The Perth warmth for the party. My favourite thing about this job is understanding and respecting a new musical world every week. I prep like I'm doing a thesis on emotional and vibe management using your songs. You're not looking for a "mobile DJ" with a checklist. You're looking for a responsible professional who actually gives a shit.
When you book me, I'm the one who shows up.Some DJ companies work like agencies, they take the booking and assign someone from their roster closer to the date. That's a completely normal way to run a business. But it means the person you meet in the consultation might not be the person behind the decks on your wedding night.I'm a one-person operation. There's no roster. The person answering your messages, learning your music, and reading the room at your reception: that's me, every time, no exceptions. It means when you tell me something matters to you, it doesn't go into a briefing document. It stays with someone who was there for the whole conversation.
Gear etc:Sound that fills the room, not just 'loud.' You don't need to know what 31Hz means. You just need to know that when the beat drops, you'll feel it in your chest, not your ears. No screeching treble, no feedback. Just warm, full energy that makes people say, 'Why does this sound so good?' I'm also obsessive about volume. A DJ can completely ruin a room if they're too loud, so I carry a decibel meter with me to make sure the levels are always on point (that's 80dB for dinner, and 95dB for dancing!).Lighting that isn't a laser tag arena. I use DMX-controlled intelligent lighting to create genuine atmosphere. I design lighting like a cinematographer. Warm amber during dinner. Slow builds for the first dance. Big energy when the party peaks. My nightmare is cheap, flashing colored dots that ruin your professional photos.
Venues I'll be performing at in 2026: Mounts Bay Sailing Club, Doubletree by Hilton Perth Waterfront, Celtic Club West Perth, Barrett Lane, Upper Reach Winery, Mardella Meadows, Baskerville Memorial Hall, Core Cider, Caversham House, Donnelly Chalets, Araluen Estate, Buckland Estate, 3Six5, Nikolai Estate, East Fremantle Yacht Club, Dunes Beach Resort, Sitella Winery, Guildhall.Spotify Playlists:5 excellent wedding reception songs.
